It was time for a new look for the blog, wasn't it? I mean, our last pictures show an amazing snow fort, but the snow has long since disappeared. I'm pretty excited about the sunshine these days. That was perhaps the hardest adjustment for me in moving to Canada - waaaay less sunshine in the winter. And last summer didn't provide much sun either with the gloomy, rainy weather. So I find myself taking lots of opportunities to sit out and enjoy the sun.
The Duchess loves the sun as well, of course. When we let her outside on one of the beautiful days, we almost need sunglasses to look at her. Her whiteness blazes in the sunlight. At this moment she and I are both indoors, but she is still managing to soak up the rays. She has also adjusted her sleep clock with the earlier rising of the sun, waking us up far too early each day. Oh well, more time to enjoy that beautiful sunshine!
I'm not one who enjoys much quiet, but I find that when I am just sitting outside soaking up the suns rays, I don't have as much need for noise. God has been using that quiet, sunshiney time for me lately. I've had some great reflection and prayer while enjoying God's gift of sun. What are those things for you that help you to create the space for prayer and reflection in your life? Those gifts from God that just help you connect more with him? White fluffy cats and sunshine seems to be mine these days.
